"I also end up thinking of those moments when you think it's a bad thing but it turns out to be a good thing in retrospect moments when I'm casting one. It's really weird." She said. It was really wierd to her but it worked. "Expecto Patronum." She said closing her eyes as a beautiful big cat like thing from her wand. It was one of the spells her mother taught her.

The big cats paraded around the room with grace and confidence. Silvery and strong, the great cats were what Aja always associated with strength and power. Except lions, she thought, they're more useless than... her eyes drifted to the Gryffindors.
Once the Ravenclaw's Patronus flickered out, Aja produced her own big Panther. It did occur to her that it was odd that so many students knew how to produce the corporeal version of the charm but their lives were different to that of their parents. The Dark Lord had been gone only ten years. Their parents lived with the fear and knowledge that something bad could happen. They saw the rise in Dementors floating around and obviously, many went out of their way to protect their children.
Aja was seven when the Dark Lord was killed. She saw first hand and still remembered most of the things that went on during that time. Knowing how to produce the difficult Patronus Charm was easier than having to be on the wrong end of a rampant Dementor. She may have been evil but bad things had happened in her past too.

"Expecto Patronum." Trillian's own patronus was small, a mouse. It scurried well and seemed to dart through the air easily, like a real mouse would. She smiled, she always had liked white mice.
She knew some people would be surprised it was a small creature, but then she liked small creatures. This mouse suited her well, it was slim as she was, fast as she could be and moved with hurried darting movements, as she did when in the corridors.

Aja was a year older than she was and at the time it didn't really matter. She was a person born of freedom and the peace of mind knowing that coming here to learn was not going to be in fear but freedom. She lived for that moment as her mother did and as so many other wizarding parents did.

"So anyway," Aja looked around as more silver wisps dissolved into the air. The class had stalled slightly. Apparently, most could cast the Patronus Charm so, in all, their time here was being wasted. "What now Sir?" It can't hurt to be courteous despite my distinct dislike of the guy. She waited for the Professor to answer but she wasn't holding her breath.

"This was easy, Proffessor." She said. "I've known this spell for two years. Mom taught it to us so we wouldn't be so defenseless and so we could send messages to each other in times of extreme need." She said. She wasn't just trying to brag, she just wanted something harder.

"Some of us have never tried before." Trillian murmured shyly. "I think it's better we go slow... maybe offer harder tasks for those who want them?"

"Some of us have never tried before." The words were soft and Aja almost startled to hear them from young Trillian though it was not unexpected. She was, after all, only a tiny thing. "I think it's better we go slow... maybe offer harder tasks for those who want them?"
Aja couldn't help but be slightly impressed at the diplomatic response. "That works, Professor. Hit us up with something a little more difficult."

"Yes, please." she said agreeing with both of the girls. "Why don't you hit us with something more difficult."

"Yes, please." Lina seemed tired of the waiting as much as Aja was. "Why don't you hit us with something more difficult."
When the teacher said nothing for what seemed like forever, Aja shrugged and turned to Lina who sat in the next table over. "Hey, Lina, what's with the cat?" Absently, she motioned in the air where Lina's Patronus had pranced around only minutes before.

Angela walks into the classroom. She takes a set in the back. She pulls out her text book for the class and puts her bookbag at her feet. She watch the class was doing. She hoped that she could catch up with what she had missed.

Another young girl scuttled into the class, not looking at anyone as she pulled out her books and quills. The yellow across her robes told all she was in Hufflepuff. Oh no, not another one! Aja inwardly groaned.
Turning from Lina, she didn't bother paying attention to the girls answer, there was more at stake - like making the newbie tremble.
"Heya Littlie!" Aja called across the classroom at the new arrival. "What's your name there?"
